Part Number:FRDM-KE02Z40M

The FRDM-KE02Z40M Freedom development platform microcontroller board is a simple, yet sophisticated development platform for Kinetis KE02 MCUs (KE02Z64VQH4), built on ARM® Cortex®-M0 core. Features include easy access to MCU I/O, battery-ready, a standard-based form factor with expansion board options and a built-in debug interface for flash programming and run-control. The FRDM-KE02Z40M is supported by a range of NXP and third-party development software. The hardware design is form-factor compatible with popular third-party hardware designed to work with Arduino™ and Arduino-compatible boards.

The Kinetis E series is the most scalable portfolio of low - power, high - robustness, mixed signal 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 MCUs running up to 48 MHz in the industry. It supports power supply voltage range from 2.7–5.5 V, ambient operating temperature range from –40°C to 105°C and includes up to 64 KB flash memory . The FRDM-KE02Z40M includes the NXP open standard embedded serial and debug adapter known as OpenSDA. This circuit offers several options to the users for serial communications, flash programming, and run-control debugging.

The Kinetis KE02 40 MHz MCU sub-family is the entry point into the Kinetis E series portfolio, and is pin compatible within the Kinetis E series family and with NXP's 8-bit S08P family. This sub-family includes a powerful array of analog, communication and timing and control peripherals with specific flash memory size and the pin count. The family acts as a low-power, high-robustness, and cost-effective microcontroller to provide developers an appropriate entry-level 32-bit solution. The family is a next generation MCU solution with enhanced ESD/EMC performance for cost-sensitive, high-reliability devices applications used in high electrical noise environments.

Key Applications: Consumer (Refrigerators, DC Cooling Fan Applications in Computers, Dryers, Room Air Conditioning System, Washing Machines), Industrial (Power Supply (DC-DC), Electric Metering, Control Panels (Elevator), Industrial Machine Control, Circuit Breakers)

FAQs

How can I download the code to the MCU on the FRDM-KE02Z40M board ?

You can use the onboard Serial and Debug Adapter (Open-SDA) to download the code to the MCU

What is the supply voltage for the board ?

The supply voltage is 5V for the USB and Vin connector where it is regulate to 3.3V to power the board. A regulated 3.3V is needed to connect to the 3.3V pin on the I/O header

How to select the Open-SDA or the SWD for debug ?

Connect the O Ohm jumper (R58) to use the Open-SDA for debug. Remove this jumper when use the 10 way SWD debug connector

What is the data width of onboard ADC conversion ?

There is three ADC conversion length for selection, 12bit, 10bit and 8bit

What is the highest clock speed ?

The maximium clock speed is 48MHz

What is the type of accelerometer onboard?

It is a 3-axis type accelerometer
